Sleight of hand and other poems

Sleight of hand

It is good that I finally ate something with regard as to how it did, and should, feel.

Proverb

I carry – a lot of
bacteria, a lot of bad things.

Vegetable baby

They can suffer to dry together, being so well-washed.

Littlest window

If you had
a child with me,
lived with me like this,
kissing
and kissing,
I would die.

An invitation

If he would, he could take
his little knife and sculpt me,
like soap, as boys learn to carve,
and then stop, discreetly,
hating the forced act.

Because

All life’s ways are ours,
but there is still one which takes away
the least from our thoughts
and our accomplishments.

Wire

I am afraid I must inform you that I cannot
see you because I do not feel very
well. In
fact, I do not expect to feel well for the
next twenty years.

Yours sincerely,
Allan
